The Rules

Toplist traffic can be terrific when everyone uses it properly.  I'm not super strict on my lists, but I do want to make sure that the quality of the traffic stays top notch.  So I've got a few rules that if everyone can follow, we'll all be able to trade quality traffic & make some money!

1)  No more than 2 consoles on your site total.

This includes any chained pops like an exit to a sponsor that has it's own string of endless pops.

2)  The URL my toplists link to must include at least 2 other sources of traffic.

If signing up to one toplist will bring you some free traffic, why not sign up to a few of them to bring in more?!  I'm happy to link your site, but for the toplists to grow, they need to receive traffic from other sources.  If you sign up for Lesbo Kitten & the URL you submit only pops up Lesbo Kitten, that surfer isn't going to stick around.  He was just there & picked your banner to click!

The preferred method of linking is creating doorway pages.  Example:

toplist #1 > sends traffic to > doorway #1 > which pops up > toplist #2

With a blur or exit console, the surfer won't see the pop up until he closes your site, so you might as well send him somewhere different & boost the hit's productivity.

Another simple example is an easy text link box:

3)  The image & site must match the niche.
There's no sense in sending traffic from an interracial toplist to a softcore teen site & vice versa.  Keep the traffic targeted & we all make money.

4)  No animated or otherwise annoying banners.
What's annoying?  Borders.  Text.  Flashing shit.  Each page has 30 friend sized banners (100 X 150).  Can you imagine the seizures we'd put people through if they were all blinking randomly?  Arghhhhh!

5)  Don't pop up one toplist on every page of your site
You'd think this would be common sense.  He saw it already.  Quit popping the same list again & again!

6)  The links should open in a full size window.
Don't pop teeny frames, link via iframes, 0 length frames, 1x1 imbedded images etc. etc.  There are too many cheats to list, but rest assured, link list owners can be bitches.  If you try to cheat one of us, the rest will have you blacklisted very quickly.


Am I a link nazi?  I don't think so.
But I do want quality traffic for your sites & mine, without fucking around the surfer.

Nobody want him to get so frustrated with shady websites that he turns off his computer & pops in a dusty VHS tape, right?
